The Millville City Council is concerned about safety with off-highway vehicles (OHVs) on City streets. Please note that in Utah, everyone who operates an OHV must pass an online course and have a course completion certificate. HERE is a flyer with information on the course. In addition, all OHV operators in Millville City must either have a valid driver’s license or learner’s permit or be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. Rocky Mountain Power is taking steps to reduce wildfire risk. With the focus on safety, Rocky Mountain Power may de-energize power lines as a preventative measure during periods of the greatest wildfire risk anywhere across our service area.  
 ·         Enhanced Safety Settings: These settings are used with devices that de-energize lines when a fault is detected, reducing the chance of a potential fire ignition.  

·         Public Safety Power Shutoff: The decision to implement a Public Safety Power Shutoff is based on extreme weather and area conditions, including high wind speeds, low humidity and critically dry fuels. 

·         Encroachment Strategy/Emergency De-energization: When an active wildfire moves close enough to threaten burning into the area of our lines or equipment, we may complete an emergency de-energization of our power lines. Our encroachment strategy refers to how we use emergency de-energization to reduce catastrophic wildfire risk.

Asbestos, once commonly used in construction, can be released during a fire or disaster, which could lead to serious health risks like mesothelioma. HERE is more information on the risks associated with asbestos after a natural disaster and HERE is information about mesothelioma.

With the help of an engineering firm, a determination has been made that there are no known lead water service lines in Millville City. This determination was made using data from installation dates as well as a random sampling of homes built prior to the lead bans.
